A Flavourful Fiesta: Tango Street Food Hosts Presentation Secondary School's Spanish Immersive Experience
On November 30th, 2023, the vibrant atmosphere of Tango Street Food came alive as we had the pleasure of hosting almost 100 Transition Year Students from St. Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School. The occasion was part of the 'Think Languages Day,' organized by the Modern Foreign Language departments at the school, aiming to immerse students in the rich tapestry of foreign languages and cultures.
The day was filled with exciting activities, including Zumba, film screenings, and, of course, a visit to Tango for an unforgettable Argentine culinary experience.
A Taste of Argentina: One of the highlights of the day was the visit to Tango Street Food, Killarney's premier Argentinian restaurant. Our restaurant, known for its authentic Argentine flavors and warm ambiance, was the perfect setting for the students to dive into the world of Tango, Argentine culture, and delectable cuisine.
During their visit, the students engaged in conversation and even had the chance to prepare their own pizza! The event provided a unique opportunity for students to connect their language studies with real-world experiences.
Culinary Delights: The culinary journey at Tango Street Food was nothing short of a feast for the senses. Students had the chance to explore our menu, featuring a variety of Argentine specialties prepared with the finest ingredients. From traditional alfajores to mouth-watering pizzas, every dish showcased the rich and diverse flavours of Argentine cuisine.
Tango Talk: Our staff enthusiastically engaged the students in conversations about Tango, sharing insights into Argentine culture, traditions, and of course, the story behind our restaurant. The students' curiosity and eagerness to learn added an extra layer of joy to the experience, making it a truly memorable day for everyone involved.
Closing Thoughts: We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Transition Year Students from St. Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School for their wholehearted participation in 'Think Languages Day.' Our sincere appreciation goes to Karen Downes and the organizers for crafting an enriching and enjoyable day, and we are honoured to have been a part of this fantastic initiative.
