Tango first anniversary 🎉

Holy pepperoni 🍕 We just turned ONE! ✨and we are chuffed⬆️

If we haven’t met yet, we are Facundo (the Chef) and Pamela (everything else that is not cooking and baking) and together we are the owners and the ones behind Tango Street Food #KillarneyIreland👨🏻‍🍳🙋🏻‍♀️

Bejaysus, it’s hard to believe that we open our doors at Muckross Rd one year ago. Actually our first birthday was on the 7th January but we were so busy we couldn't post this earlier 😅

It both feels it went so fast and at the same time like such a big and hard-earned milestone. They say when you start your own business the first year is usually the hardest. And when your first year is after a pandemic, during one of the worst years in the last two decades in terms of conflicts and economic instability... Well, you get the picture! Though it wasn't our first rodeo, it was our first experience as entrepreneurs in Ireland and it's been quite the roller coaster; filled with rewarding highs and unfortunately some lows - not really business related but a delicate family situation since our youngest had two brain surgeries one in March and another one in November. In the end, we are a family business and is impossible to disconnect our commercial activity from our day to day lives.

Despite all of the chaos 2022 has brought, one thing remains crystal clear: how grateful we are for each and every one of YOU. Thank you for every purchase, like, follow, referral, DM, share, and feedback. Your support and encouragement during some of our darkest moments has allowed us to pursue our dream of sharing our passion for good food and some of our favourite Argentinian flavours with our "not-so-new" home fellows (it'll be 5 years since we arrived to Ireland!). We are grateful not only for the support to Tango but also for having adopted us as part of the local community.

Our 2022 wrapped

We expanded our business and went from a small food truck onto fixed premises, we registered our brand with the Irish Patents Office, we won a Blas na hÉireann award for our Empanadas, we had an amazing and successful weekend at Dingle Food Festival, we got accepted on New Frontiers Programme phase 2 at MTU Tralee to take our small venture to a whole new level (stay tunned!), we were featured in Radio Kerry with Mary Gallagher, we were in the newspaper ((three times!): one for the Silver award, another time because we went bananas when Argentina won the world cup 🏆 and the last time just recently when Tango was included to be among the best in Killarney - chose the N#1 Destination in Ireland according to Indo Traveller. Overall, it was great craic!

And while we sit here so proud of what our first year has entailed, most of all, we are motivated and excited about what this 2023 will bring. Growth, challenges, highs and lows, we'll welcome them with a grateful and curious heart. Thanks for loving us and we hope you continue to follow along on this journey with us.

x Tango Family
